Florida Health Officials to Proceed with Medical Marijuana Process

The legislative session is over in Florida and no compromise on medical marijuana rules was made. The state’s lawmakers can’t decide how many growers or dispensaries to allow in the state.

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) announced last week that it’s developing the state’s medical marijuana rules and they’re not going to wait for lawmakers’ opinions or input, according to WUSF Public Media. The DOH plans to take a more executive approach.

In a ruling last week, a judge says the Florida DOH must allow two more growers in the state. That will bring the total to 9 growers statewide.
