Medical Marijuana Dispensary Opens for Business in Tampa

Truleive Dispensary
Trulieve dispensary in Tampa has officially opened its doors. Truelieve offers medical marijuana pills and oils to qualifying patients. This is their third Florida location to open.

Trulieve already provides home delivery statewide, according to TampaBay.com. Visiting an available location, however, removes delivery fees. In 2016, the state’s governor, Rick Scott, signed a bill allowing full-strength THC medical marijuana for terminal patients expected to pass away within one year.

Kim Rivers, CEO of Truelieve, said, “We think it’s very, very important for dispensing organizations and dispensaries to be located close to patients so they can develop a relationship with that particular dispensary.”

New regulations are in process for the newly approved constitutional amendment in Florida to ease access to marijuana. Florida doesn’t allow for smoked forms of medical marijuana, vaporized or ingestible only. So, patients are able to visit Trulieve for tinctures, capsules or liquids for ingestion. Oils are prescribed for vaporizing.
